Remember the days when everything was taken care of for you? Travelling involved zero packing and booking -maybe even a packed lunch thrown in for good measure...You didn’t need money apart from a shiny pound given by grandparents to buy yourself an ice cream. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to experience the care free travel we once loved?
No one wants to have their body plastered in bright white sun cream anymore but what if you could get a slice of that blissful holiday experience back.....well maybe you can!
Follow these six steps to childish travel...

Take regular naps
Everyone loves a nap right? Whether you’re on a bus, train or in a local eatery- any time is nap time. Seize any opportunity, go on...rest your head- you know you want to- plus you’ll need your energy for all the sand castle building you’re going to be doing!

Hit the beach or play in the park!
Why visit monuments/castles/temples when you can go down slides, climb monkey bars or make yourself dizzy on roundabouts- technically you’re still experiencing a different culture just in a different way...race you to the swings! Get the sand or grass in between your toes and savour it all!
Take the fun route
Think novelty trains, tuk tuks, unicycles, rollerblades- why get conventional when there’s so much fun to be had out of getting somewhere.

Are we there yet?
This question should be asked at all times and repeatedly. Let your travel buddies do the map reading, timetable scanning and hostel booking. Don’t busy yourself with the details. You want to be there-now!
Eat like a Child
Brightly coloured food, novelty crisps, fizzy drinks yes please! If it comes with a free toy then you want it. Who cares about bloating when there are so many flavours to tease your palate. Ice cream for breakfast is a must.
Get fun luggage!
If your wellington boots are covered in frogs or your rucksack is shaped like a ladybird – how much will that cheer you up on a rainy day??!

Make airports your playground
Why browse the duty free or read a novel when you can take advantage of such a wide open space. Departure lounges can become football pitches and conveyor belts a place for sprinting. Never fear delayed flights again!
Play games at EVERY opportunity
Card games, eye-spy, tag, hula hooping, and hopscotch – it’s ALL about staying sane and playing games. Revert back to your inner child and embrace the fun!

Games are the best aren't they!! The cube game sounds interesting although I don’t think I have the hand eye coordination for some of them…I played bingo over the Christmas break, we were playing for an after eight chocolate so it doesn't quite have the same effect as a cash prize!!
I'm definitely going to give the fun luggage thing a go!
Over Christmas and New Years. I found myself playing board games again =)
The cube, which you might know about from watching it on the tv. Has a game version you can play in the house and it's a lot of fun. Monopoly is always a good one, I even have it on my ipod touch now. I played LOGO at a New Years party (think... trivial pursuit) It was actually a good laugh even though at first I thought "you must be kidding, right?"
You're right about having fun and making the most of your time. Being creative is the best way to have fun, even if those around you don't quite get it =P
