Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountHi Erin, I have a bit of a strange problem, that I am struggling to find any information on... I have completed a 120 hour TEFL certificate, and am about to take my CELTA...this is all fine....however the one area I seem to be struggling in is identifying grammar mistakes. Punctuation, style or any other mistakes are easy enough to identify, as is the actual grammar mistake...it is the the area of grammar that isnt as clear to me...if that makes sense?! What I am looking for , is just some more information or examples of say, problems with articles, tenses, determiners etc...so that I can practise identifying which area of grammar is at fault with students' work.....Hope you can help!!
Hi Erin, I have nearly completed my 140hr course. I'm going to do a masters in HR management in September. I was just wondering if you might have any idea if there were jobs out there for the month of August? I'd love to experience tefl first hand and really don't want to wait for Sept '13! Thanks in advance Eirn! :)
Hi Erin! How are you? Well, Ive finally completed my tefl course and have all of my certifications. Can you give me some helpful hints on how to go about looking for a job :)
Thanks!
~Sarah
Hi Erin, I just wanted to ask a question about the Vietnam internship. Do you know when the application deadline for the August intake is? And do you know when the next one will be (or if there will be a next one?) Thanks!!
Hey Erin! Thanks for the add! And your pic's awesome too! :) Well, I've been subscribed to teflonline for a while now and just found this site the other day. It's pretty darn handy for getting other's opinions and advice. I'm not currently taking the i to i course, but I'm studying tefl in uni. So the section about jobs abroad is interesting. I graduate next year and it's so difficult trying to decide where to go! I mean, tefl for sure, but how in the world do you decide where to go? so i want to see what other people's experiences have been. :) how long have you been teaching?
Thanks Erin, I would like to go to a "saving money" country (haha) then again if I went to Asia and I would personally want to learn the language, but that now makes it a big decision because learning the language is such a big investment... ie Chinese, Japanese or Korean - then again... I don't have a lot of 'fancy' clothes anymore (ie. business attire) and that is sort of what Japan feels like, and everyone comments on how nice the Koreans dress, etc. also I don't have 'formal' teaching experience (although I've been told more then once, I would make a great teacher!) so I would like something I can ease into, I feel I am a gradual but comprehensive learner, (I think it makes one a more empathetic teacher too!) Anyhow I think I might have to lose a few pounds and buy some decent clothes before I go, as I am an irregular size, Tall, 32 in neck, sz 13 shoes, etc. (and yeah, buying clothes is a real pain!) and now my waist has expanded from 33 to 37-38 in the last year and half!!! (too many coffees and donuts when I study) so I think I'm goin' on diet first to get myself in shape (I hope I don't sound like one of your girlfriends! :o
Hi Erin, just a quick question (you must be busy, I'm sure!) I just finished all my modules and downloaded the individual certificates, and wondered if there is a hard copy with the total hours or something (that I can hang on my wall) no just kiddin' but I just wanted to know if we are supposed to use the individual certs, separately or print them out ourselves, etc. thank youuuu
Hi Erin!
I woul like that you give me some help. I want to do one of the courses of i-to-i, but I have some doubts about it.. for example: how much is the course of 120 hours, because , its appear in $, but I don´t understand clearly. Is it in $ Argentinos??. I know that the prices are in libras. Where and when I have to pay the course??.who is going to give me the certificate when I finish the course?
would you help me ,please?
Many Thanks.

Hello Erin,
I was wondering if you could provide any help or information regarding find positions in Mexico or perhaps Costa Rica or Ecuador. I am looking for something asap. I also have many uears experience with business and would prefer to teach |Business English however this is not manditory...only a preference. I also have recieved an offer and contract to teach in Bac Lieu City, Vietnam. They said that the contract would be signed when I arrive the end of May if I accept the position. Do you know if this is the norm or should I be wary and insist on the contract being signed before I do anything such as apply for the visa or book the flight?
Cheers,
Rick
Hiya,
I signed on for the Vietnam Aug 2012 internship and am completing the online tefl training and filling out the application forms etc. Am I right to believe you're also doing the Vietnam internship? Would be nice to get to know some of the other interns before heading out there :)
Richard
