Have a look on the Japan network - I have posted some links for jobs. Contact some of the schools and see what their requirements are. If you would like to have more foreign friends Tokyo, Osaka, hiroshima etc are usually the gyjing places to be! http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/groups/8-Japan/discussion/53-interested-in-hearing-from-tefl-teachers-in-japan?page=1#posts-1663

could you give me some info how to finding the job after doing the course and how to find nearer friend?
its nice to see your advice...

Konnichiwa! Genki desuka Ellen san?
Can I ask what passport you have? I think the requirement of a degree is for visa purposes - so if you have a visa/passport already for Japan you may be okay.
I taught at NOVA before it closed! I did like teaching there and the pay was ok (maybe that's why they had money problems!). You should join the Japan network - I have posted some job websites there - you could check and see what the requirements are :-)

Good luck!
thank you honor for the recoment...
do you have some info for the vacant here??
Hey Ellen,
You can be an English teacher in certain countries without a degree (such as China) if you want to teach overseas, but if you want to stay in Japan you should be able to become a teacher without a degree. There's lots of advice in Emma's blogs about teaching kindergarten aged kids, which should help you: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/emmafoers/posts and also in the TEFL guides here: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/travel-guides
Good luck!
