One thing we ESL teachers all need is something to arouse excitement and curiousity among students in class especially when they begin to find our lessons a little boring. It's a headache usually to go hunting for new materials to keep our students interested and motivated. In an attempt to solve this problem temporarily, I recently put together a series of copyrights free video clips gathered from the Internet. They are helping a lot.
If you have a computer with good Internet connection and an overhead projector connected to it in your classroom these videos would be perfect for classroom activities like: Pre-lesson brainstorming, Listening comprehension, essay writing, science projects, debates, etc. Pre-watch and select the videos for use and set up questions to trigger speaking. For older students these are also great to use for weekend homework. I found out recently that my students get extremely excited when asked to watch a video online for homework. They do even more than what I asked them to do. If we explored this aspect well we would solve the eternal problem of students hating homework. Select videos and ask them to go home and watch during their own free time then prepare short presentations about the videos. This kind of homework works great.
Most of the videos are just about 5mins. long leaving the teacher enough time to continue the lesson based on the videos. You can also easily grab the embed codes for the videos for use on your own blog or website. Ideal for students with at least an intermediate level of English.
Here is the link to the videos.
NB: You will have to take about two minutes to sign up in order to grab the videos.

I know I can't believe it is October already! This year has whizzed by!
Nothing in the pipeline just now, just helping you folks have the time of your lives in your TEFL paths... Don't feel bad for me though ha ha! I love being part of it all and helping where I can!
It's great to hear from you on Chalkboard though, I know you bring a lot of help for a lot of people on here!
