Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountHey Dean, I can't find your meetup group :/ I'm new to HK and currently doing interviews etc for teaching work...would love to join the group to meet new people.
Hi Dean,
I see it seems that alot of people are asking you about what its like teaching in HK. I was wondering if you could give me some info also. I am trying to also get a job in HK or Shenzhen but everyone is telling me that its more difficult since I am of Chinese ethnicity. Can you tell me if there are Asians teaching in HK or do they only hire Caucasians? Thanks and hope to hear from you.

Hi!!
I am currently looking for an English teaching job in Hong Kong myself, and I was wondering how you found yours? Do you have any advice you could give?
Thank You
Alex X
Ah nice one Dean. If ever I don't sell out and move to Shanghai, and come back to Hong Kong, I might just give you a buzz.
Thanks
Cool!
I will be meeting my Australian friend in Beijing over Chinese new year. We are going to do Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Shanghai, Nanjing, HK, Macau and Hainan. Can't wait, going to be a blast!
Hi,
Yeah, I am here for a year anyway :) All the legal contracts out here are for a minimum of a year. I am really enjoying it so far :D Yeah, I have been super lucky by finding a good teacher! I don't think I have a gift for languages :S
Hey.
I am teaching in Heibei at the moment. I would love to teach in HK, but not in a kindergarten.. haha.
I've been here about 5 weeks. My Korean is better than my Cantonese (I was there for 2 sets of 6 weeks, and managed to pick up about 5 words). I am enjoying learning actually, and have found a great teacher, so I think I'm lucky :) How long have you been in Hong Kong?
Hi Dean,
Thanks for the invite, but I am currently in Korea :)
Hey Dean, can I ask what it's like teaching in Hong Kong? Better than mainland China? (if you've taught there before)
I've been to HK and absolutely loved it, and it's a dream of mine to live there one day.
I'm scheduled to teach in mainland as of February and it would be good to keep in touch : )
Thanks
