Hi Dan,

Different schools require different qualifications and it really depends on the area in which you want to teach.  Italy is relatively easy to get jobs in as a native English speak so I would tend to say yes.  I'd recommend having a look at what jobs advertised and see what they require - try http://www.eslcafe.com/

Hope this helps!

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your message. As Italy's quite competitive, you probably need to do as much TEFL study as possible (including a bit of classroom learning, as you'd get on a combined course), plus a bit of volunteer teaching experience in the UK if you can (there are some good ideas here of how to get experience: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/groups/77-United-Kingdom).

I'm no expert on Italy though, but I know these two ladies are, so you might want to ask their advice too - Emma's taught in italy in the past, while Cherogoth's still out there:

Hope that helps - if you have any other questions get in touch!
