I have decided to take a gap year prior to starting my first year at University. After I have finish sixth year I plan to go to China to teach English for 4.5 months with i-to-i, work for a few months 'down under' and finally volunteer in Brazil for several months.... I love travelling.

Hey Daniel, I am actually an elementary school teacher now. I live in Florida in the USA. :) I am doing the 20hour course actually the weekend before everyone arrives in Beijing. I'm flying over on August 18th! I am working on my 100 hour course now. Can't wait to meet you.
Melissa
Hi- You are planning to go in August as well? Me TOO! :) Where are you from. I am currently teaching in Sunny Florida in the USA! Look forward to meeting you.
Melissa
Hmmmm...the course took me about a month and a half to complete, and that was with me working on it pretty much everyday I could - as it sometimes took a while to get the assignments marked and I couldn't start the next one until I got the previous one back. Have fun on the weekend course! The tutor I had was brilliant, and everyone else I have spoken to have said theirs were great too. Should be fun! Good luck in August. Keep in touch and I'll let you know how it goes!
Heya! Thanks for adding me :-) How are you?
Wow - I'm properly jealous! Sounds ace!
I'm good thanks - things are ticking along well at work. Off to Costa Rica in April to try to learn to surf (hopefully won't embarrass myself too horribly!) and do sea turtle conservation - really looking forward to it as I've never been to central america before.
Good luck with all your trips and make sure you keep us updated with how you get on! Think one of the China interns heading out in Aug has made a group where everyones chatting away about it so you might want to join up to that so you can meet some of the people who are heading that way: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/groups/61-China-Internship-August-2-1-
Hi Honor,
Yeah, I can't wait! Gordon is helping me with the plans so it should be an amazing year. I'm doing the Ultimate Aussie experience with Real Gap, and I have arranged to help at an outdoor adventure centre for street children in Brazil (I heard about it through my church). Everything is good thanks, how are you? Do you have any trips planned yourself?
Daniel
Hey Daniel,
Thanks for the add - sounds like you've got a pretty sweet trip planned! Which project are you going to be doing in Brazil?
Hope everything's good with you.
Honor
Hey Daniel,
Welcome to Chalkboard - that's great that you're going to be heading out on the China internship - you might want to check out the China internship group to meet others who are heading in the same direction:
