Cullano’s Blog

Time to begin

So, after much careful thought and consideration, I have decided that teaching abroad, expanding my horizons, living in a new country, with a new culture and language, is exactly the kind of challenge my life needs!

At the moment, I am aiming for South Korea. The country seems to offer everything I could ask for, and having read an awful lot of what other people have wrote, it is such a vibrant country with fascinating people, it should offer plenty of suprises! If anyone has been and can offer any advice, that would be great to hear.

I have signed up for the full 140 hour course, and have now set to work on the introduction modules, and have become fully engrossed in the material. There are exciting times ahead and I'm looking forward to it more than a kid at Xmas!

Although the reality of it all is slightly daunting, I'm accepting that as a good thing. It should keep me on my toes, ready to keep learning, and never accept that in this game you'll ever have it all worked out. I imagine everyday will offer a fresh challenge and wonderful opportunities, that you would rarely find in any other walk of life.

I will hopefully be doing the wkend course in January in Birmingham. If anyone else is signed up for this, it would be great to hear from you and see how you are getting on!
