Chalkboard is i-to-i's TEFL community.
It is currently still in testing phase which could mean you find the odd bug!

Well I've taken the plunge! I've finally signed up to a TEFL Course (120hrs Online).
What do I write about myself?
Hmmm, well, I guess its opportunities and 20 years of corporate guff that have got me to this point! I need to travel and I want to do something rewarding also. After working for a company that takes what it can from it's customers, I feel like I want to give something back.
I want a life changing experience and I want to change others too, I can't think of a better way, can you? I know that I'll never be fulfilled whilst I'm tied to PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook! Life's to short for that eh!
What else is there to say? Er ..... I live in Leeds at the moment although I'm originally from Birmingham (I still have a little of my accent but I'm working on it!), I'm single and apart from travelling, my only other passion in life is my motor bike!
Anyway, I'll stop typing now because I'll just end up rambling!
Adios!

If you add the 'Teaching Business English' spec cert to your account you'll automatically get another three months of time to complete your course, so you'll hopefully be able to complete it in time!
Hope that helps - good luck with finishing off the last few bits of your course.
I've finally finished my 120 Online course! How happy am I? VERY!! :-)
I hope everyone teaching in Japan at the moment is safe and sound.
My thoughts are with you.
Hey Paul,
Congratulations on finishing that part of your course - good work! You can access a PDF copy of your 60 Hour Online TEFL Course certificate through your online learning account. Otherwise it's just a case of waiting until you've done all 120 hours and then you get the hard copy of your certificate through the post.
Hope that helps - good luck with the rest of your course!
I've just completed (and passed) the 60 hour online course!
Am I happy? Oh yeah baby! whoop whoop!! :-)
Hi Crezza. Just sending you a quick invite to the North District Social Club. A social club in northern Hong Kong for English speakers.
Click here for the tefl-chalkboard group, or here for the Facebook group (has over 240+ members)
Happy New Year to you all, where ever you may be! :-)
Hi bweedin,
Apologies for not replying sooner.
At the moment there is nothing I specifically need to know to be honest, there will be, just not yet!
I had my first trip to China (Guangzhou) back in September and loved, hence i started my TEFL course.
My personal circumstances mean that I won't be able to seriously consider teaching anywhere until the back end of 2011. I think I'll be heading back to G'Zhou as I know people there and some of them will be key to me getting on I feel. That said, the possibilities of where I could go are pretty limitless, so who knows!
Anyway, where about's are you? Any regrets? Anything you would have done differently? High Lights/Low lights?
Hi Crezza,
Any questions, hit me up! I mean China questions, not grammar questions. haha
Thanks Honor
That's where I'd started off to be honest. The confusion came from this link on the site (http://www.onlinetefl.com/teach-english-abroad/china-visas.html).
Either way I'll drop Rin and Robert a line in the near future.
Thanks again
Paul.
