About Me

Hi everyone! I work as an Online TEFL Tutor for i-to-i. My name's Craig and I'm based in our Dublin office... as you may have already guessed.
I've recently returned after four years teaching English in Japan. I was mainly based in schools from kindergarden to senior high school, but I've also taught adults of mixed aged/abilities.
I'm currently presenting a series of webinars based on our online course... so you might see me soon.

The First Lesson: Advice & Tips

“HOW DID I END UP HERE?”, screamed the voices in my head… as the class of Japanese elementary students stared up at me in eager expectation. It had been a long journey to get to this classroom… physically and metaphorically speaking. I had anticipated this moment for the past few weeks, but I still managed to succumb to nerves.  Eventually, I managed to overcome my choking fear and uttered my first ever words as a...

IATEFL Conference: Live from Glasgow (1)

Hello everyone, I'm currently attending the IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language) conference. The event itself is massive and I'm overwhelmed by the thousands of TEFL experts here presenting and sharing their ideas.  When it was first mentioned that I'd be leaving the lovely i-to-i office in Dublin to attend this international event... I was very excited about where I might end up. Paris? Tokyo? New York? No... it was...

I agree with the comment below - a few of us have mentioned the site needs to be more organised...especially into seperate sections of TEFL course and TEFL teachers...

Many TEFL teachers want a site just for blogs about the countries we teach in - to help people learn about teaching experiences and culture and more or less decide where best is to teach...it's so hard to go through all the post to find the ones we are interested in because most of us dont want to read about course help.

The same as many people who are doing the course just want to go directly to the help page and find the help they need...there should be a tefl data base on a dedicated website, thats just for tefl help, that is searchable and put into better catagories... currently the help page is set up like a blog forum site which just leads to confusion and repition!

Hi Craig. Thanks for your comment on my blog post. I have to admit that this chalkboard is a little confusing to navigate at first. That, and I have a hard time dedicating too much time to it when I am eager to continue with my modules. I lost the last 3 days or so due to a pretty bad case of food poisoning but I'm hoping to get back into it right now. So are you taking a TEFL course right now? Or do you teach? Anyhow, nice hearing from you. Take care.
