Hello, I have just completed a 140 hour online course with i-i. I am doing research on Asian countries as I wish to teach in Asia. I have a few questions in regard to China and would be happy if someone who is teaching or has thought in China could answer them.
If offered a teaching job in China, do you have to apply for a tourist visa and then switch to a working visa when you arrive in China?
If you are applying for a visa to China, is there a minimum amount of money you need to have in your account? This is after flights, travel insurance etc has been paid.
I am a 24 year old male with a Masters Degree and no teaching experience. How much money can i expect to earn if I do get a teaching job in China?
Is it common practice to have your accomdation costs included in your contract in China?
I would be happy if someone who has tought or is teaching in China could answer these questions.
Thank you very much,
Kieran.

Hello Kieren, i live in England and can confirm there are no questions no financial questions, it took only two days to get a Chinese visitors visa issued in London, that was in Feb. 2010.
