About Me

I'm an American, 36 years old. I recently finished a year teaching in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China. I've taught students of all ages. While I love this adventure I do miss my family sometimes.

Anyone in Japan?

I've taken a new job in Nagoya, Japan. Anyone on here currently working around there? I'm looking to make new friends.

Thailand or Taiwan?

I have offers to teach in either Thailand or Taiwan. I'm having real difficulty deciding.  I would make more money in Taiwan I think, but get more travel with Thailand as Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Singapore are close. My goal in Thailand is all the outdoor activites, but I'm not sure if they are close by.   Any one have input on either. Have you taught in either or both?    thanks.

If you can handle south korea i'm sure you can handle china if you wished to.

Hey! I applied and was accepted into the North American Language and Cultural Assistant program in Spain. I don't have an EU passport, the program is open to Canadians and Americans. I wrote about it on my blog here: http://estrellaexplores.com/2012/03/28/the-north-american-language-cultural-assistant-program/ If you have any questions about the program, feel free to ask.

I see that you are currently in China, how are you finding it? Even though I've completed a contract in South Korea (and had a blast) I don't think I could handle the culture shock of moving to China.

almost done with TEFL cert, on my last checkpoint and then need to complete the 4 specialized courses.
