Hello!
I chose to "get my TEFL on" because I love learning about different cultures, so I have jumped at the chance to have a wonderful experience, whilst doing a fun and interesting job!
Although I love Manchester, there is so much more the world has to offer, and I'd be a fool not to go and see it, before I start knocking people up and settling down!
Whilst abroad, I can't wait to sample the local cuisine, I love cooking new, interesting and, well, weird stuff from all over the place, so that will be a real treat for me. Also, whilst away, I will pursue my hobby of photography, which is the industry I'm interested in eventually setting my career around. It would give me a wonderful portfolio, and I'm sure Asia is ridiculously more photographic than cloudy, grey, rainy Manchester!
Where am I thinking of going? Hmmm, there's plenty of places! I'd certainly look to go to Thailand first, for quite possibly upto a year, it looks so beautiful, and the thought of marking some work on the beach, drinking from a coconut and dipping my bright red, sun-burnt toes into the sea....bliss!
Then Japan would be incredible, such a rich culture, and 6 months of sushi would do me just fine! After that, perhaps a change of scene in South America, Brazil, Argentina, any of them are a possibility really.
Finally, I would love to experience a year in Paris. The European centre of food and film, plus its an amazing city, 'ooh la la' indeed

Happy TEFLing!
Cool - I'll keep you posted, as I'm not sure the coconut shell plan would pan out too well...
Glad you're enjoying your course - the grammar can be a bit fiendish, but I figure it's always better to get it done now, so you're ready to face any tricky questions your students feel the need to throw at you!
Hey,
Welcome to Chalkboard! Your travel plans sound awesome - love the idea of getting out there and seeing the world before you knock someone up and have to settle down... so true!
You might want to keep your ears to the ground when it comes to Thailand - I work for i-to-i and we've got a Thailand equivalent of the Teach in China internship being launched next week... I'll keep you posted about it - might be a good bet for the start of your TEFL adventure!
Good luck with it all and if you have any questions feel free to give me a shout and I'll do my best to help :)
