Finished Online!!

Hey all!

So I finished my online work with TEFL and all that I have left is the weekend course!! Woot woot! and that is next weekend. To get ready for the trip I compiled my TEFL course into workbooks. I compiled the Grammar Module into one and then the Specializations into another. Because I wrote out the other online course (40hr) in a book in previous years when I worked on it I didn't need to do that - and it is also in that book that I am putting my weekend TEFL course. This way I have my course on hand in hard copy - that way I can lend it without handing over my computer.

Basically at this point still I am preparing - you can tell how board I am with my day-job right now that all I do is blog - lol. I am heading to Toronto soon for passport and then visa not too long from now as well. I am currently searching out a backpack/rucksack that should work well for tiny trips and such. I am really hoping for a gift certificate! lol.

I feel that I have all the things I need so far lined up for when I get the visa letter and to start the congo line for Visa, Ticket, Insurance, etc. But if I notice a spike in anything like ticket sales I will jump on it before it skyrockets. This I think is the worst part - being finished but not yet there.

I also set up a 'contact' group for email to send out mass emails while I am there - that way if I need to re-make an email address while I am there I will have all their addresses saved on a file so that I don't forget them or have to try to remember them all.

I have set up a tutor to help me with my Mandarin. I studied previously so she is just going to help me get back to my old level. I am also getting help by tutoring her in English - great combination and I think I get the better end of the bargain because both sides help me for going to China! To anyone learning numbers in Mandarin - it isn't tough - but because of dialects, where you'll be, etc, the best thing is to have some kind of calculator on you at all times (phone, etc). Because if they don't have one (which they usually do) sometimes bargaining for a price becomes difficult and embarrassing.

Oh! Question - As a Canadian I often wonder - what English are we teaching them? colour/color? I really hope with the 'u' or I will be confusing kids like no tomorrow.

Well I will stop it here and not put more of my boredom onto you, have a great weekend wherever you are,

Wow!  You're definitely ready to go! :)  Have fun!!! :)   As for the English..more than likely British.  Most places teach British over American.  I am American and have to learn British for my job in Ukraine.

Congratulations on finishing your online course! Good luck with your weekend course, you should love it!
