Wow,
So I am working through my teaching pronunciation module - the last one before my class in Toronto. It is going pretty well since I have taken linguistic classes in the past. The hardest thing was putting what I know into a teaching activity. Like the 'ed' pronunciation - tough! This makes me wonder and understand how tough this will be. It isn't bad sitting at my laptop doing these tasks but then it hits me - bam - that I will be needing to put this all together again (maybe in a new way) for other students. It is all fun-n-games until we get there. But as daunting as it seems I am super excited. It will be such a challenge but I know that I will do well since I plan to work my bum off - since this is what I want to be doing. There is no turning back and there is no diversion - just go for it! I am a little frightened with the modules ending because that means I have over a month without TEFL before the move. I have started looking at insurance and tickets and all else but I will wait till the letter and then do that - in a sense i jumped the gun. I found an artist that I am going to tutor English with and she will help me with my Mandarin or Cantonese (depending on her dialect!) - super excited to go - If you are going to be in Beijing earlier than the arrival date (I am since it is cheaper to fly during the week than the weekend) check out the Far East youth Hostel - amazing spot that I stayed at previously - you can find it at Fareastyh.com - seriously check it out.
Have a great day everyone and good luck - don't panic!
