Hi Mark!  Yes, I have come to realize that securing a teaching position in Western Europe with minimal qualifications is next to impossible without an EU passport.  I do, however, intend to check out some parts of Eastern Europe, mainly the Czech Republic.

Do you want to teach in Bulgaria or are you looking to teach elsewhere?

Hi Chris,I have been in Bulgaria for coming up to four years that has flown.Just wanted to say western europe on the whole require more qualifications,eu passport, degree, etc than eastern europe.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the add and congratulations on enrolling in the 140 hour course - hope you enjoy it!

To get you started on your TEFL journey you might want to chat to these guys who are currently in the countries you're thinking of heading to:

Spain: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/josiehiggy and http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/emsr2d2

Czech Republic: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/leannef

France: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/veronicainfrance

Good luck and if you have any questions get in touch :)

I've decided to take the plunge and enroll in the TEFL 140 hour course tomorrow (as soon as their office opens! lol)

I'm very excited about starting my course studies.

I am currently looking at the Czech Republic, Spain and France as my top choices for employment.

I hope to document my progress from course enrollment all the way to employment and beyond.  I'm too excited to sleep!  The journey begins!  Woot!

Hi! Love your outlook on life. I need to go skydiving, I figure that will help me with my fear of heights... Anyhow, I just finished my 120 hour course and it was fun. You probably want to do training of some sort before you go off on teaching adventures. Unless NOT doing the training is part of the adventure.... Talk to Honor about that haha. Anyhow, best of luck and let us know what you decide to do.

Likewise! good luck with Europe! :] I have at yeast a year to go before I can start teaching abroad!

Ack!  too much to see and do!  Well, guess I should throw this out there.  I'm looking for some advice on how to go about teaching English in Europe.  Haven't yet taken the TEFL.  There are just too many courses out there, but i'm guessing the one offered here is pretty good!  Has anyone done it and thus can enlighten me on current job opportunities?  What do people think about CERTA and it's effect on increasing job prospects in Europe?

Nice, my own personal wall!
