2012

Well, not quite sure what 2012 will have in store for me but the end of 2011 was a bit of a mish mash.

I had managed to get my fiancee here  in August and he has been attending the ESL school where I worked. In early November we finally got married after having to wait for almost 3 years. We had a lovely quiet wedding which all went off wonderfully with no glitches at all, which was pretty awesome because no-one had rehearsed anything at all.

However, not quite 3 weeks later I was in hospital after my car had an altercation with another, and the hospital called my son, who called his wife, who called my husband, to say I was in hospital injured. My poor husband...in a strange country with customs and rules so different from his own, was suddenly thrown into a panic because he didn't know what to do and had no means of transport to coem to the hospital. My family came to the rescue but I will never forget the look of fear on his face when he met me in Trauma. I tried putting myself in his place...if I had been in his country. The difference being that he speaks my language well enough but I don't speak enough of his.

I had just been for an interview with my EC who was positioning me for a particular job, when not 10 minutes later, I was 'T-boned' at an intersection. My little car was a write off and I was in hospital with my injuries for a few days. However, lucky me, there were no others injured in the accident, just me, and mine were minor, just cuts and bruising. However, not being young anymore meant that my injuries are taking a lot longer to heal. I was given 2 weeks off work but it really meant the end to my job because I couldn't stand for long, nor could I do the work I needed to do. Then I was also without a car which made things so much harder.

Anyway, I now need to find a new job this year and due to the injuries, despite being minor, are taking a long time to heal which is creating problems.

Well, 2012 has started off well. I now have a new car which makes getting around so much easier. I still do teaching corrections on Livemocha which I love doing, and I am still learning Bahasa...although now my husband is here, I don't get a lot of time on my pc to do it.

I still have my other job as a Nanny to a little Malay child whom I have been teaching to read and write alongside her parents, for the past 2½ years. She is wonderful, and I'm aways in awe of children so young who are bi-lingual fluently. Wish I was.

Anyway, thats my little blah for a while, haven't been on the Chalkboard for a while now so it's good to be back and to read the adventures of all of you.

Good luck and I wish you all the loveliest of years this year, enjoy your life, it only comes once and there is no rehearsal. Be well, and keep up the input.

Thanks Erin, you're very kind. Yes my car is a bit of a mess hey. O well, the main thing is no-one else was injured and that is what I am thankful for.

I'm ok, but the healing is taking a lot longer than I anticipated....however, I am confident all will be well soon enough....at least thats what I think..not sure doc agrees but then I don't believe in letting him put me down either.

I wish you a fabulous 2012 and I just know things are going to go really well for you this year. Blessings!

Love the post!

Oh my goodness I've just seen the picture of your car! I hope you're ok and making a speedy recovery.
Congratulations on getting married, the pictures are lovely.

I wish you well for the new year!
