I'm Cassie, a 24 year old from Manchester, United Kingdom. I moved to Bangkok in 2011 to pursue my dreams to be a TEFL teacher and I now currently teach in one of the top 5 Government High Schools in Bangkok. All I can say is that I love it and it is the experience of a life time!
Previously I was working and residing in London working for Practical Law Company, however decided to take a big risk and give it all up to follow my dreams!
I went travelling around South East Asia and loved it that much that I've decided to make the most out of life and live the dream of living and teaching out here.
A bit about myself... Well I'm very sociable and outgoing, I love meeting new people no matter where they are from. I love having fun and making the most out of things. I love photography and art and class myself as very creative being. I studied dancing for 17 years whilst growing up so different forms of dancing is another passion of mine. I studied Graphic Design at university and I'm a massive social networking geek. The internet is my medium for blogging, showcasing my work, keeping in contact and staying connected with the outside world where ever I am!
Overall, I'm a very fun and relaxed person to socialise with!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about being an EFL Teacher!

I've been reading your blogs, sounds like you're having an awesome time in Thailand! My boyfriend and I are currently teaching in China, but are looking for a change. So we are thinking of travelling through South East Asia for a few months and landing up in Thailand around September/October.
I'm just wondering if you think we'd have a good chance of finding English teaching jobs once we get there (probably in Bangkok)?
Also, do you have any tips for looking for jobs in Bangkok? Would you recommend having a job set up before we getting there or finding one once there?
I'd love to hear about any advice you have for Thailand!
Thanks,
Corinne
Hello! Just noticed you posted on my Blog an age ago! How is Bangkok working out for you? x
love to start up
Hi Cassie! If you don't mind, sending me a msg or just writing back on my profile - I'd love to hear more about your experiences in Thailand. I've been offered a position to teach in April - of course that's months away, but perhaps If I do go, you will still be there yeah? It would be lovely to meet =)
Mainly I'd like to know about the culture and work environment ususally...is it a laid-back culture or more strict with timing and punctuality like some Asian countries can be? Are the people generally open and friendly or do they prefer to be more polite and reserved?
Lastly, is the weather too hot or can it change depending on the season? Did you feel it was safe walking around and things?
Thank you so much =)
Yeap, I'm in the Ramkhamhaeng area. University is great, but I'm eager to finish. Yes, although its cheaper, I think the education is less about the... education and more about the experience and an experience it definitely has been. I'm going to start teaching after my studies are over. I want to do things the legal way although I know it's quite possible to obtain work even without the proper requirements. I do "volunteer" once or twice a month for an English camp program. It's a nice gig as the job is fun and easy and I get to go to some new places for free (food, room, etc.)
I'll definitely be here in November... probably the next few years, haha. Let's meet up for a drink when you have the time.
Cassie,
How's your progress with preparations for moving to Thailand? What city do you have in mind?
I am loving it here, but I am starting to think maybe it is time to move on. I could possibly do a working holiday visa in NZ, so we'll see what happens!
Hey! Thanks for the add :) I just wanted to say that I love your profile picture! It is so striking and a really beautiful photo!
Thanks for all the helpful information on my journal entries :D
Cassie!
Thanks for your compliment. And I can't wait to see you here in Vietnam :)
I was originally come from the south of Vietnam, somewhere near the Cambodian border, called Kien Giang province. If there would be a chance, I'd love to take you there for a tour. It's a small and rather poor, consisting of poeple from 3 different natinalities: Vietnamese, Chinese (all can speak Vietnamsese, the latest generation doesn't even know Chinese anymore), and Combodian (they are very honest and kind-hearted).
I hope you've been doing well with your course so far.
Have a good one, Cassie!
