Bonjour!
I am a graduate of Applied Languages and have decided for a change I would like to be the one teaching so am hoping to head to the South of France for the summer.
If anyone has any information/hints and tips for Marseilles it would be greatly appreciated :)

I see that has been a year since you have posted, so maybe you are no longer browsing the chalkboard. But just in case, I am writing to say Hi. I live near Nice, and am embarking of the TEFL certification project to get lined up for work teaching here.
I'm wondering how things have worked out for you in Marseille.
Mandy
Hi Caroline,
Welcome to France, and good luck! I am teaching in NE France (Nancy) but am happy to help in anyway possible. Being a graduate, you shouldn't have too much difficulty, but I'd target the professional institutes / language centres. They are screaming for teachers, usually.
Neil
Hi Caroline,
Sadly I'm not teaching yet. I only got my TEFL cert a couple of weeks ago and am still hopeful of finding something eventually. I just put some sites up that offer courses to students at home under the Teachers in France group, Internet based teaching. I doubt it will be enough for you though, but may give you some more ideas or contacts. As for the degree not being in English, I wouldn't worry if you're a native speaker and have shown academic ability up to degree level. Go, go, go! Yvette
Hi Caroline,
I wish I had some tips on Marsaille for you, but sorry, I haven't. All I can say is that if you have a degree and are looking to teach in France, it should be a lot more straight forward. Whilst private schools don't necessarily require a degree, the establishments within l'education nationale do tend to. Given the size of Marsaille I'd imagine there should be quite a few possibilities. I hope so, as it sounds like it could be a great opportunity for you to turn the tables so to speak!
I came across the following site which has summer courses in France and who might be looking for staff http://www.anglophiles.com/uk/ . Probably of no help, but thought it was worth a try for you as they seem to focus on school holiday courses.
Hope your plans come to fruition.
Bye for now, Yvette.
