About Me
Im 23, currently working for a media agency as part of the online/digital team. I studied film and media at Manchester Metroplitan University.
I have been interested in doing a TEFL course for a few years and decided a few weeks ago to just bite the bullet and book it, and hey presto China in August here I come!
I visited Hong Kong a few years back and loved it and am so looking forward to exploring the rest of China and hopefully other parts of Asia.
I have a great interest in music, photography, sport and generally having fun. I play guitar and harmonica and have just recently bought a set of vinyl DJ decks.
I decided to do a TEFL course as I am very interested in travelling and feel this opportunity would be the most beneficial way of traveling and seeing the world whilst gaining worthwhile skills and also being paid while doing it.

hows life??
Pretty crazy down here in Wenling, well i say Wenling, we're about a 15minute drive from Wenling, in a little village in the middle of nowheresville. Finally got the internet yesterday so prepare to be bombarded with messages! So much to say but i'll spare you the essay, just give me a heads up on how things are out there, and most importantly, keep it real
I thought I had emailed you but maybe that's just tiredness making me think that. The sleeper train down here was fun. I shared a soft cabin with 3 guys: Gaz, Kev and Niles but we mainly just slept through the night, which was a weird experience on a train.
Things are good here mostly. The accomodation is really nice. We live on campus and have our own ensuite bedrooms with air conditioning, water coolers, internet, lots of draws/cupboards and we share a kitchen. However, we have a curfew (still haven't worked out a time as it seems to keep changing), and the school is pretty isolated from Ningbo (it takes about an hour by bus to get there).
The kids are very quiet here. I teach grade 1 and 3 high school students in small classes of about 14 but I have to follow a textbook so not much freedom to do my own things.
Hows your accomodation and school going? Picked up an american accent yet? xx
Hey... :) how's your placement going? I got to Shenyang on Saturday afternoon and had a staff meeting on sunday at 7pm and started teaching on Monday at 7.40am!!! I'm at a boarding school for foreign students... funny thing is, they're all Chinese lol There are no foreign students. The accomodation is lush. I have internet, en suite, two arm chairs, a double bed and it's all really lush.
I don't have access to f'book. I didn't get the VPN or whatever enables me to get access to it. Help???
It's really warm and muggy here. Better enjoy it before -15 arrives :)
There's a large group of the other intern group here. They're mostly 18/19/20. A few of us from the hotel group are here, but we're spread out.
Do you have emails for Gaz, Mike and the others? I forgot to take them and i entered yours incorrectly. whoops. I've been asked the strangest questions by the kids...'do you eat alot of potatoes in england?', 'you look so fat in that picture but now you are so thin, how did you do it?' to which i replied 'that's my mum in the picture, not me'. lol
Hi, I saw your post and I'm flying out with Ethiad too but I'm flying from Manchester so will see you in Abu Dhabi for the next flight to Beijing. 2 weeks to go now!
