What have past interns done after their internships ????

Hey guys! I was just wandering what did everyone do after they finished their internships in China ? Did you travel? Holiday?Stay on at their placements?Move on to other jobs you secured while there? Or just come on home ? The reason i ask is because i am thinking of doing the 140hour course then looking for my own job in China BUT all the jobs i find advertised are looking for a bachelor degree...

hi

i am currently teaching in china and about to start my second year.. i looked for a job whilst doing the course as it can take up to two months to process all the details.. you will however need the certificate to get a position. if you think you could complete the tefl quickly, then drop me a line and i will put your name forward for the position my school currently has..

Hello Callie,

Thanks for the comment. I was sent a contract today but was told that the contract would be signed once I get to the airport in Ho Chi Minh City. Not sure that sounds right. I have until the end of next week to decide so I am hoping that a position will be offered in Mexico or South America before then. I also have an 18 year old Chihuahua that travels with me and Mexico, Costa Rica or Ecudor is so much closer to me than Vietnam as I live in British Columbia.

I wish you well in getting to China. I also looked at postings from China and found that most places require a degree in order to get a work visa...government regulations...There are some private schools that will hire without a degree however you take a chance on getting found out and deported apperently and the wages are lower at the private schools. Just something to consider.

Cheers,

Rick

Hey Erin ,

I'm thinking China (no idea where in China though) because i haven't finished my degree yet, in fact ive only started. But I really want to teach for a gap year. I'm not planning on going anywhere until 2013 so I'm just trying to get a feel for everything at the moment. I think i will sign up for the 140 hour course then decide at a later date wether to go it alone or apply for a 2013 internship. What did you do ?

C xxx
