Hey, anyone going to Vietnam on the Internship have any specific Malaria Tablets picked out ? If so what dosage are you considering taking and for how long ? My GP is pretty clueless, hasn't left the country :P

I was wondering if anyone knows of any restrictions on the quantity of prescribed medication you can bring into Vietnam. I've researched the Irish and British embassy websites about this and they say so long as substances are non addictive and you have a prescription and a letter from your doctor you'll be fine. But there is no mention about quantity or restrictions applying to dosage. Any ideas ?

Can't wait now mate.....flights booked (Turkish Airlines), halfway through my injections so its full steam ahead! Have you booked your flights? Just reading you are having trouble with your meds, hope you can get that sorted asap.
Hey dude, I hear you gotta take a load of medication with you to Vietnam? What medication is it for? I got Type 1 Diabetes, and my GP told me that as long as you got a letter from your doctor explaining why you're carrying enough drugs to take out a small herd of sheep, then everything will be fine. Proof of your condition is helpful too, like one of those meditags or another letter from your doc.
Xin chao as the Vietnamese would say! Just dropping by to say hey before august, not that it's far away now. I'm sure Ord could tell you how many days as she's got some weird calendar going! By the looks of things in 6 months time Vietnam will be full of small children all speaking with an Irish accent. Good job someone decided to let the Brummie come to balance things out. Get any further with the medication thing? I've got mates on holiday there in November so plan on getting them to do a legal drugs run :o)

Hey :) Yeah, I was hoping I'd be able to explore a little while I'm there. I guess when we have weekends off, we can go on daytrips. I was considering staying in the country for a little while after the teaching finishes, just to do a bit of adventuring, but I'm not sure yet! And you're right about the bottled water. Definitely going to be sticking to that. My dad also said "No ice in drinks! Unless you know where the water to make it came from!" which I hadn't even considered!

I looked into the medication thing, and could only seem to come up with the same results you got. I'm guessing just play it by ear?

Hey, I'm doing Vietnam!! Big fan of the Irish haha went to Liverpool Uni so been surrounded by them for 4 years!! You doing any travelling in Vietnam before you start?? Im heading there with a friend on the 31st July to Hanoi making my way down before I start!!
