Today James and Rachel from the organisation in Beijing came to see me at home to talk about the outstanding issues. I told them I had the impression the teachers that were sent to Changchun were the only unlucky ones in this programme, me being the most unlucky of them all. Surprisingly for me, their answer was that they had been all over China talking to interns and trying to sort things out for them...

I'm not well. I caught a cold on Saturday, stayed at home all day yesterday trying to get better but it was really cold in the house and I just felt worse and also struggled to sleep. Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountHi Borrix, I arrived in Beijing this morning and had been lucky enough to sit next to a friendly entertaining Chinese guy who insisted him and his mum dropped me off at the hostel i'm staying in. I've managed to source 6 months of my immunosuppresive drugs, have a week to acclimatise before the internship starts and i'm feeling a lot more positive than i was a few months ago :o)
Was just wondering how you're getting on and if things have improved for u? Really hope so???

Haven’t been on the chalkboard for a very long time, I have just seen your message last night.
Yes, we should keep in touch while living in China, could be fun to meet up, Tanya should be going to China too?
I will be living in Shenzhen, just across the border from Hong Kong when entering China and not too far from Macou either. It is a large city with a population of 10 million.
We (my family and I) are going there in the end of August and I will start teaching in a school on 3 September, just 2 hours 3 times a week to start with, that is 2 classes with the same level so I do not have to make more than one lesson plan per day.
Did you complete the i-to-i course yet, I just send in the last assignment to be marked by a tutor and are now waiting to hear the result. I have been a bit slow since I had to read some other material than of that available on our course to complete the assignment, did you find that was necessary too, or did your teaching experience fly you right through the course :-)

I'm good thanks, I am working full time trying to save up, How are you?. Wow that's great!! Well done! I'm still on task 8 haha. I have applied for the March 2011 South Korean placement as Taiwan wants experienced teachers, fingers crossed I get accepted :). When do you go to China?

Congratulations on finishing the course! I'm still trying to finish mine, the last of the grammar and a few special modules left to complete. I think I will be going away next year perhaps, I am hoping to volunteer here in Birmingham with some English classes for asylum seekers to get a bit of practice in though. Let me know when you get a job, it'll be so exciting!! Hope you are well.
