I'm Bridget, 24, Australian. I was part of the May 2011 Thailand internship group with i-to-i. I love to travel, you can read my travel blogs on http://bridgetovertravelledwaters.tumblr.com/ ; whenever/if ever you like. I travelled in South America for roughly 6 months over 2010/2011, and loved every minute of it. Couldn't tell you a favourite place, it'd be like choosing my favourite child. Just completed my TEFL course and presently looking for work in Barcelona, learn some Spanish, before attempting to travel/teach around South & Central America, in a years time. (Starting in Buenos Aires, Argentina possibly then working my way around via Chile, Bolivia, Peru etc.,up to Mexico over a few years)
Having read your blogs I notice you've travelled in S America. I would appreciate any advice you can offer from your experiences there. ( I have spent time travelling a few years back, but mostly in Australia/NZ/Asia).

I am seriously considering going in October, but I was hoping you could give me some more insight into the whole process and what your experience was like. What age group did you work with? How's it going? I know there's probably one million other things that I should be doing with my day here, but I just wanted to say that I nearly just had an accident reading your latest blog about toilets :) It was so funny, mainly because it's true!
I just got back from a trip through Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar and totally share yourpain and laughs about it all! That feeling before you push open the toilet door and don't know what lurks behind the door...it's horrible!
What are your plans now?

I'm a newcomer and I have a few questions...
I'm 24 and French I have a current English but it's not my mother tongue so I would like to know if this program is good for me.
With the TEFL, could I really teach abroad? (Asia)
How many hours do I have to take 120, 140?
What is the difference between TEFL, the Cambridge CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL? and where can I attend them?
I already talk by email with some TEFL salesperson but I woud like to have the opinion of people like me

Hi Bridget! I was just wondering, did you guys find out before you left to Thailand what age group/ area you were going to be with and be? I would like to prepare a bit for lessons but will be difficult not knowing what age were teaching.
