Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountI also think when anyone posts on a website for English teaching they should be aware that they are advertising themselves and their skills. The writer should be aware that us readers would like to be able to understand what is written which is pretty hard at times. There also appears to be a lack of punctuation which makes it even more difficult to decipher. I think it's ok to use text lingo in the way it was intended to be used but personally, I like to see our language unabused.
Hehe, Paul.
I don't work for i-to-i!
Not to take sides but steve does usually make good points...The english langauge is constantly developing...but as a teacher we usually have to teach the main forms...things such as slang, short hand, texting etc are usually only for advanced classes...
i think want steve is trying to point out is that the language of todays younger generation is quite bad...many have got use to texting, missing letters and using the same amout of characters to spell a word incorrectly, thinking it is either cool or shorter to write...
your writing is a skill in itself...but also a challenge to read - in fact it takes longer to read and understand then a normal message - Rin works for i-to-i, a professional company...im sure you wouldnt write to a college, university, employer in such a way...in the teaching world it is becoming a growing concern that people who think they can speak english can teach...this is partly true, but many people are creating a bad image in the TELF world and employers in certain areas and now becoming weary of people with TEFL training...now employers are starting to want experience as well
one question - what does "dicy" mean?
The flats are generally ok.. but quite often dirty, so you'd have to clean it yourself or pay someone to do it for you.
