Actually, since this is a forum for English teachers, I don't think it's asking too much to expect posters to be able to spell and to use grammar correctly.
My commenting was not related to "having nothing better to do" as I had actually seen your post before and chosen not to comment on your substandard grammar and spelling. My annoyance this time and reason for responding was because of your slightly sarky response to RNFloyd about his apparent inability to read instructions. Further to which, your own powers of observation are fairly questionable if you haven't seen the 'Edit' button down the left-hand side of the main blog post. You are correct in that you can't edit comments though.
Hello all Syntax checkers :-) .. Posts are just messages, spelling and other errors are allowable. Chalkboard is not a venue for English tests, it is ( it's!!) just a conduit for messages. Actually there are quite a few "Spelling errors" in my original post and in my reply to Mr RNFloyd, but the message is clear, and once COMMENTS are posted, can not, as far as I can see, be edited. As soon as I posted it, I knew that there would be people, who for lack of anything better to do, would pass comment. Oh, and for those like Briona, Who actually made comment of my use of "YOUR.. the possessive!!" I say Thanks for telling everyone, Sooooooooo sorry ,! :-)
Now Please folks do not fret over spelling errors here, If the message is correct, that is what matters, it's a little like Email, usually full of errors, but who really minds.
This venue is not an English Test.. Although some posts I have seen really worry me :-) communication usually sorts out any problems.
Mr Floyd, I look forward to YOUR !! email and will have it answered ASAP. The reason I thought that the R.N. Was Royal Navy was that I was, for 21 years in the RAN.
Have fun everyone. and lighten up.
Alastair
I would like to think that all the teachers we employ can read and follow the instructions given.
And I would like to think that all teachers, regardless of whom they are employed by, could differentiate between YOUR and YOU'RE. Sadly, this isn't the case. The less said about the rest of the errors in your post, the better...
Yesm I suppose you are right - I should have just e-mailed per the above instructions; however, there is a GIANT "What do you think? Add Your Comment!" option here as well. Hehehe . . . I will e-mail you.
Thank you for your time,
Randy
P.S. The 'RN' in my username is for my proper name - Randy Nolan Floyd.
Hello. RNFloyd ( Royal Navy??)
If you read my post you will see my email and office number. As I am teaching in Handan at the momnet, I sincerly suggest you either email me, and I will forward your enquiies to my staff, or you can call the office dirctley, as per the phone number in the post.
I would like to think that all the teachers we employ can read and follow the instructions given. ;-)
