About Me
I left the UK and arrived in Hong Kong in April 2011, having met my now wife online. I had no teaching qualifications and no experience. Once I enrolled on the i-to-i TEFL course (140 hour combined), I was able to secure part-time employment as a cover teacher at the end of August. The experience has been invaluable.
Now I have passed my courses, I'm looking to keep my working hours flexible, as I have yet to do a degree (always an aspiration, but life always got in the way), and have decided to do more online study through the Hong Kong branch of Open University. The course will be a bachelor's in English Education.
Once that's settled, it will be time to open my own Business English School, and utilise my management and people skills from my experience, with my new teaching skills.

Interesting last lesson today, when I got the teaching notes out and the lesson plan, only to be greeted with the unified chorus "We did this six weeks ago". - Aaargh!
I just did the fastest production of a play you've ever seen - lol! - Great students though. I look forward to the time I'm no longer just a cover teacher, and can start to really invest time and effort into long term development of the students.
