Greeting from an Indonesian

Hello all!

Let me introduce myself first. I am Astrid, and I am Indonesian. I work as an English and  Math instructor in E.nopi. This is a franchise from Korean company. I'm graduated from Public Relations department at Pelita Harapan University.

Then maybe you wonder why I choose to be a teacher instead of become a Public Relations? Well, I like to share things with other people. While in PR we share to gain something in return. But in teaching, we share not only for getting this from people we teach, but also to see people become better everyday because of us, that means something for me.

At E.nopi, I teach more Math than English. But I hope someday, I can teach my own English class and do new things with the children and make them like English. I quite new in teaching...this is my 1st month. I used to work as a Course Consultant (CC) at EF Gading Serpong, the same with my boyfriend. Become a teacher comes with greater responsiblity than as a CC, but I like it A LOT better.

It's not hard to teach Math at E.nopi, all the booklet have their own "quick tips" for solving the problems. It's just like recall my memory about what I've learn in school. But English preparation is the real teaching, I think. We have to make our own lesson plan with all the timing and consideration about the children. We have to be flexible in guiding the children, minding their mood of the day, and trying not to push them while doing work.

I'm taking this TEFL course to make my knowledge about teaching and the teaching material itself, so I can produce more and more innovation for improving my teaching style. And also as a preparation to move with me boyfriend everywhere he will go teach, so I can teach also.
