What's up?

It's been a WHILE since I posted my last blog.

Why? Because I felt a little bit stress here and there. As you know, Rob is in China now, so I felt a little bit stress out, stay here with crazy students. Works is not fun for me any more as I can't share the story about it (my parents don't want me to be a teacher).

Then on the last day Rob was here, he spoke to my mom asked whether I could come and join him in China or not. Then my mom answered if I want to, I can.

So, here I am (still in Indonesia), thinking and preparing to go there.

This could be my first journey alone to the country that I only know that my ancestors are from there. I even can't speak the language. I am not ready for something like this. The preparation must be take years (especially language). Although I look 'not really' Chinese, but still they might expect me to speak Chinese.

But since I am not gonna be alone there, that cheers me up a little bit.

So now, I am learning Chinese. Not bad, I think I have a talent in new languages. So I hope I can learn as much Chinese as I can. I heard they speak Cantonese in Rob's city. So I learn both. Not so hard as they sound the same.

And about the job there, one of the school near Shanghai wants to see me and might give me a part time job. I must that is very nice of them. I will spend time to go there and see hows that going. Rob said that I can do private lesson, as I am not only good at English, but also some of school subject (Math), and if I can speak enough Mandarin, my chance is getting bigger.

I decided to go there on July 2010. Haven't decided the date yet as I haven't make my visa and buy the tickets.

Hi Astrid.

Its a big step, moving away from your parents, everything you know and going to another country, believe me i know! But you're going to have so much fun!!

Do you think you will have trouble finding work? EF, the place Robert works for, they advertise that they employ anyone regardless of age, sex, nationality etc. So long as you have a good comprehension of the English language and they can understand you when you speak to them in interview. Maybe Robert can put in a good word for you?

Good luck! :) xx

Bet you're excited to go to China, i'm very jealous! July is not too far away!

Looking forward to your next blog Astrid!
