Summer 2011

Wow, has it really been this long since I've written anything on here? Apparently so! Last October I found a great job teaching english in Rome- worked through June and now I'm back in the states for the summer. Stefano and I are having our 2nd wedding here in August (were already married in Rome last year!) so I've been pretty busy planning everything. I've stuck with my pilates all year as well- it's actually become something...

Looking for work!

I've been sending my resumes to some different English schools here in Rome; I've got an interview tomorrow morning and one on Monday. The school on Monday really interests me; I was supposed to have an interview with them months ago before going to America but never went. So, I'm excited to go. I wanted to look on here for the section where you can buy books, but I can't find it. I don't remember...

Back in Rome.

Well, I'm back in Italy and have been for a little over a week now. It was extremely tough to leave home this time and I really didn't want to come back here. I'm slowly readjusting to things, though, even if I miss my family a lot. I haven't posted anything on here in what feels like ages! I've been kinda busy though and hadn't thought much about it to be honest. I just finished...

Grammar/Tenses

So, I've been studying the grammar recently and urghghghg, I don't like it. :P I'm having a hard time with the billion tenses that exist; I don't have a good system for memorizing them. Does anyone have any tips/ideas? It just feels like there's so much to take in that it's really overwhelming.  Aside from that, I've also been busy looking into wedding plans! Stefano & I are already married but we are going to have a...

Passed my first checkpoint!

And I'm quite happy about that. Now I'm studying the grammar and it feels like it's taking an eternity to get through, but at the same time I'm happy to be learning it. I woke up with such a terrible headache this morning and still have it. I get them all the time so it's no surprise, but I really wish it would go away. My sister & I are going to stay with my grandmother tonight...

Pilates

I kind of feel like these entries should be english/teaching related, but I'm only partway into my course and don't have too much to talk about regarding it, yet. But, in other news, I've taken up Pilates and I'm really enjoying it. Living in Italy, I walk around so much each day just to get around, and that's usually all the exercise I ever feel to need; but being back in the States, I eat...

New to TEFL

I'm on vacation in America now; visiting with my family. I got here at the beginning of May with the intention of going back to Italy at the end of June with my husband. I ended up changing my flight and extending my stay; so I'll be headed back at the end of July. Stefano left yesterday and is back home. I miss him so much; I already can't wait to see him again. Signing...
