Has anybody worked/searched for TEFL jobs in Tunisia? I know the website focuses on Asia,Africa and South America more, but I have seen a job for Saudi Arabia last summer so maybe Tunisia will be advertised on here at some stage??
Chalkboard is i-to-i's TEFL community.
It is currently still in testing phase which could mean you find the odd bug!
Q: What is i-to-i Chalkboard? A: It's the online community of TEFL specialists

I have not done the 20 hour weekend course for a few reasons. One, nothing close to Serbia. Two, I did 20 hours of practicum with my first certificate which I got through TEFL Institute. I just finished my 120 hours online with i-to-i. I'm headed to Ukraine with only two TEFL certificates. I have not finished uni yet. I'm enrolled online with my uni so I'll be done next June roughly.
I will be paid fairly well without a degree in Ukraine. However, I have a big deal for me, too. My uni focus is on International Business and the director of the school wants me to help develop the business English classes as they aren't very focused.
So I hope Ukraine helps me in more than one way.. experience, good things to write on my CV, save some money, and learn Russian while I'm at it.
I wish you the best of luck with getting a job in Tunisia!! You'll definitely have to stay in touch and let me know how it goes!
Where did you get your first TEFL certification from? I currently have 60 Hours from last summer and im currently working on the 100 hours certificate. Its good to know that CELTA is not required for all the jobs, I think that being British/Tunisia I should find it quite easy to get a job there once I have my degree. Do you have a degree? It seems more places now need a degree for a good salary, I guess as jobs are more competitive now for people with TEFL. I'm thinking of taking the final 20 hours next summer for the weekend course with i to i have you done that one? if so how good is it? Good luck with the move to Ukraine sounds exciting to be moving around all these different countries.
I'm not teaching yet... about to move to Ukraine. I'm playing in Serbia right now, spending time with my boyfriend since he lives here. And i-to-i is my second TEFL certification. And yes you can get work with just TEFL and no CELTA. CELTA is best for those who want to teach in English native countries and for those who want to make TEFL a long-term career. However, since you're getting a degree in English, usually a TEFL with an English degree is better than a CELTA. CELTA is just a recognized name. True, some organizations want only CELTA or similar because they have an image of that kind of person, however, it is completely possible to find plenty of jobs with TEFL or TEFL and a degree. No worries about CELTA. Just get a TEFL certificate for now and use your English degree to help you out and you'll be golden.
Thanks :)
Hopefully 1 year, its an English degree but i have had to redo a language project for the 2nd year and im waiting to find out if i passed or failed :-S if i fail i have to do 1 module part time for a year...so im very stressed at the moment.
I read on your profile your an American planning to teach in Ukraine? that sounds interesting, do you have a degree? im interested if this TEFL does actually help to get a job as many seem to need a CELTA TEFL..
Here's something: CLICK ME! If it doesn't directly put you to something, just search Tunisia in the drop down menu.
I found that in a quick search... When will you be done with uni?
Thanks for info :)
I tried it before on google, yes. I just wanted to know if the i to i have any job/interships relating to the country. I recieved any email last year about a job in Saudi and it was very specific so i think the company sometimes advertisers on here. I would have applied but a degree is needed..and im still in the process of doing that lol!
Have you just tried a simple "TEFL jobs in Tunisia" search on Google? That's how I always find jobs off the beaten path, especially when looking for the not so popular locations.
I've never seen actual jobs advertized here, only the internships and when other Chalkboarders discuss their finds in jobs.
Good luck in your search!!
