Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountANNA hi there my name is Anthony... I want to start now and take the course so that I can make it out to China and teach too. Any advice???? How many hours should I take for the courses. How much money did you make doing the internship? Should I just do the regular one and not the internshipbecause I have about 500.00 USdollars that I need to pay each month. Will I make enough to live and eat and whatever else?Any advice is welcomed. Thanks anthony. My email is zzsavior@yahoo.com if you could respond there
Hey, great to hear from you! When do you arrive?? Cambodia is dead cheap to live and travel in...and there are so many wonderful places to see...and even more places to spend time volunteering. I know a place in Phnom Penh(where I am volunteering) and they would be thrilled to have another experienced teacher on board! You also def. want to go to Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, and northern Cambodia is so rugged and just, magical!
We should keep in touch so as the time draws nearer we can make plans to meet up! Why don't you PM me your email and we can talk about possibly volunteering where I'm at...if you are interested :)
Hope you are loving everything in China!
Hi Annah! I was really sure that i was going to do the 120 hour course with i-to-i and then continue to do the china internship next year but over the last two days ive been on to a few teaching forums and theres loads of bad reviews about i-to-i. A lot of them say that an i-to-i tefl certificate isnt taken seriously in a lot of countries. Some go as far as saying that the countries you can get into with an i-to-i certificate would prbably take you in with no qualification anyway? Others say they had a lot of trouble after they had paid for the course, saying that once they'd paid and if they were having trouble with their course/internship i-to-i wernt very supportive. A lot of people wernt happy with the internship either, again saying that once they'd paid, i-to-i wernt very supportive and things wernt organised very well. I could go on and on but all of these bad reviews (and there were lots of them!) have put me off wanting to do a tefl course with i-to-i. I think im going to shop about and look at other companies as i-to-i was the first company i came across and i havnt really looked at others in such depth. Any advice on this matter would be appreciated :)
Hi again Annah! Thanks for your reply. I havnt started the course yet, im still in two mind as to what to do, whether to do the 120 hour tefl course or the celta as i'd like to be able to teach in english speaking countries in the future, decisions decisions!! did you do your course through i-to-i or did you do it elsewhere?

Hi Annah, i was on a group page and came across a blog that mentioned you and that you are doing the chinese internship. Im seriuosly considering it and am looking for people who are doing the course for advice and how they are liking it.... hence me getting in touch with you!! :)
any info on this matter would be great! i dont think ill be doin the one in feb as its a bit too soon (lack of funds/need to complete the 120hr course) so think ill look at the one in aug.
btw, i was travelling NZ last year for 6 months...you live in a beautiful counrty man. one of my fave places was Abel Tasman NP, just above your home town :)
all the best then annah and i look forward to your reply if you get the time :)
Hi Anna,
Thanks for replying so quickly! The info you gave me was very helpful! I'd say I'll probably do the intership as I think it would be a good way to start off and see if I like teaching English, but I've at least another year to wait haha.
Thanks again,
Louise.
Hi Anna!
My name is Louise and I'm thinking about doing the China Internship in about a year (if it's still running of course!). You came up in my recommended people to talk to thingy on the chalkboard home page.
I'm just wondering, you've been in China for a while now-is it what you expected? Do i-to-i/TTC support you well? Is teaching difficult? Is the money enough to survive on?
I would really appreciate any information that you can give me, if you wouldn't mind of course!
Thanks,
Louise
