Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountgod i cant wait till payday, seems so long since i had a nice crispy 100 yuan note in my hand. hows things going in your neck of the woods?
Hi Andrew, yes i'm all those things. Sometimes i think August will never come then sometimes i crap myself and think THANK GOD ITS NOT TILL AUGUST. Everyone is being very supportive...........i got an email from someone at work asking me "So Amanda are you going to learn English before you go?" Cheeky devil. But aww imagine the lovely Chinese kids with Irish Acccents! Little feckers!!
our term ends on june 4th or there abouts, which means i only get 3 and a half months of teaching instead of the 4 and a half that i paid for, my principal is looking into that for us, but there are whispers of us going onto half pay, which will not be fair, but im waiting for confirmation of this. i had a wicked (if not ridiculously expensive) weekend just gone so most of my money went on that. living on campus is a real nightmare, you cant go anywhere on the nights and on weekends its a fortune in taxis if you dare go anywhere.
Hiya mate,
I have got my passport back now. Still not got a bank account, I need to get on to it this week. I am alright for money as there is no pubs or clubs to go to here in pingliang. All the teachers keep inviting me to their apartments all the time and cook for me and pay the taxi's on the way home. I just cannot spend anything here however hard I try and insist on paying they always refuse to accept and pay themselves. The teaching is going brilliantly, I have had a couple of naughty students but I have not let them effect the others that want to learn, I just sent one out after warning him three times to SHUT UP. He was really cheeky. Apart from that though everything is really good. Going to try and save most of my money for when we all meet again in July. Do you know your term times and when your contract actually ends?
got passports back on thursday last week, got a bank account sorted out and everything. Can't wait for payday, so skint it is beyond belief. Teaching still going well?
Yes prostitute barbers how funny is that.
My place is getting warmer now. I haven't got any summer clothes though - GUTTED!
Hows everything going?
I have sent your email address to Jason and Markus, they are doing well in their teaching. Jason has been on the local T.V. HAHA.
Have you been given your passport back?
Speak soon
Prostitutes posing as barbers? ingenious. Not as clever as the little plastic lifty things they put in the pringles boxes but pretty damn close. Has your place strated to heat up a bit? despite it being sunny here im still freezing.
Hi to everyone who has signed up for the China internship leaving on the 23rd Feb. I have a question about travel insurance....I am about to buy insurance but wondered if we have any insurance cover through i-to-i. I would really appreciate it if somebody could advise me the best place to buy my insurance and what type of cover is best.
One week to go and I am nervous and excited, the waiting around is not good I just need to be on my way. Hope everyone is looking forward to it and I'll see you all next week. Andrew
