My journey so far

My husband and myself plan to move to Morocco in the future ( my husband is Moroccan). I dont want to be financially  dependant on him when we live there so I need to make sure I will be employable. I have done some research and the best possible chance of employment for me would be as an English language teacher. This would really suit me as my current employment is in the education/care field. Iam actually an activity coach for mentally disabled adults, I have in the past done the same kind of work with children. A few years ago I did do an initial training as classroom assistant with a placement in a receptioon class. All this was before I met my husband and had no plans to live in a country outside Europe. I fell in love with Morocco, the people and the culture, and I have experience of living abroad, Iam currently a Brit living in The Netherlands.

A few contacts I have in Morocco, who are also teaching English have told me that to teach English in Morocco, the most important requirment is that you are a native English speaker, and many private schools do not require any diploma or certificate, some schools do require some certificates and usually any TEFL training is acceptable.

I started to look around for courses, and was lucky on two occassions to find courses with TEFLexpress, I found these via groupon at greatly reduced prices. I completed the 60 hour and the 120 hours courses. However I felt that even though I had gained a good grounding and a lot of knowledge, I wanted something a little more, to be in a group or a classroom where I could talk aboout what I was learning, somewhere I could answer questions and  get an immediate answer. TEFLexpress do not run such courses outside the UK so I started searching the net again and came accross some classroom courses run accross Europe. I found i-to-i that have a number of different courses, that can complement the certificates that I already have. Iam interested the 40 hour combined course, the 20 hour classroom course and the 20 hour grammer course. Iam wondering if the 40 hour couse is actually the same as the 20 hour classroom course and 20 hour grammer course combined. If it is then it works out cheaper to take the 40 hour course.
