I am 19 years old and love to travel.
I have completed my TEFL course of 140 hours.
Originally I was hoping to go over to South America and TEFL, instead I spent 3 months this year travelling around South East Asia. I now have the travel bug and all i thinnk about is my next option to escape and see more wonders of the world.
I am really interested in doing something with my TEFL course but I dont have a degree so it is proving very difficult! (Any advice i would be forever grateful!!)
I love to meet new people and share experiences!
PEACE! xo

Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountHi Amy, I'm about to be 18 too and movng to Brazil as well to take a TEFL course. Which one are you enrolling in? There's so many so I'm really confused!
Hope to hear from you soon xxx
Hey Amy,
That's great - congratulations on enrolling in your course. I took the unusual step of teaching abroad (in China for a few months) and have since done a TEFL course afterwards (I'm all backwards!). My course took a few months to complete, as I was fitting it around work, but I've heard of a lot of people doing them in less time than that. In terms of advice about your course, just keep going with it and if you get stuck don't give up - there's loads of support here: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/groups/19-Help-I-m-Stuck-on-my-TEFL-Course- or you can always email the helpdesk at helpdesk@tefl-training.com.
South America sounds amazing - you should chat to Alix, who teaches in Ecuador, to get some advice about what it's like out there: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/alixm09
Good luck with your course and if you have any more questions just give me a shout!
Hey Amy,
Welcome to Chalkboard! That's great you're thinking of teaching abroad - it is a little scary, but it's massively rewarding too! Have you thought about which TEFL course to do yet? If you need any advice about different kinds of courses feel free to give me a shout and I'll do my best to help.
Where are you hoping to teach by the way? Or are you not sure yet?
Enjoy Chalkboard and give me a shout if you have any questions!
