Ok, as of 5:10 pm today, I am down on the list of interns who are heading off to Thailand in October to teach ..... WOW
Words cannot explain my happiness right now. I am soooooooo excited!! I am meant to be studing for exams, but I just cannot get my head into study mode with all that is going on. I have been looking at pictures of all the different places in Thailand trying to figure out where I might put down as my preference, and so far my heart belongs to Chanthaburi.
I was wondering if anyone has any tips for a newbie heading off to that side of the planet? Any nice places anyone has been to that they recommend?

Thank you very much for your advice :-). I am just finishing off my exams in Uni, and I do intend to learn a bit of Thai before i go over.

Chanthaburi is nice! I'll be going to Krabi for some beach time this weekend. You should definitely check it out if you can! The beaches look pristine!
I would highly recommend learning some Thai before coming here. Especially if you're going to live outside of Bangkok. Knowing your numbers, directions, bargaining, that sort of thing. I did and it's helped a lot.
