Log in to leave a comment or Create an accountHi, I'm at Sanlitun too! Same thing happened to me, book at Happy Dragon, got sent here. I like it though, it's much nicer than the hostel i stayed at my first night!!! Maybe I'll find you downstairs!
Hey - I think - a tentative time - to meet up at the zoo could be 8am - So that those coming early can have time getting stuff together and don't have to twiddle their thumbs until they meet up. We can all hang out in the area if those coming in the morning are delayed too. Let me know (on my wall or whatever) about what you think and if that is ok - those in the same hostels can come together or separate if you haven't met up yet.
Awesome! Well I can't wait to see you there! Just counting down the days and getting more jumpy as the days go by. Every time I see a plane go over head I think "I'll be on one of those soon!" and then I just go into such a big grin!!! TTYL

Ha ha. That's alright. I thought it was cute. I had to think about it too. I was like wait isn't 180 days six months? I had to break out the old counting fingers. See ya in China.
Thanks April! I added you on Facebook, my name is Helene Akamine and yes that would be my bf sticking his tongue up my nose. So don't be alarmed if you see a random friend request. haha! Anyways, I will definitely give you a call if I have any questions. I fly into Beijing on the 18th and already contacted TCC to let me stay at the hotel for an extra night (at a price of course). I still need to take the 20 hour classroom course so I had to go early. How about you, it sounds like you already took it? Where'd you take it, because I didn't think they offered it here in Hawaii? Have you gotten everything ready? Like adapters and all that good stuf? I guess we do have a few more weeks for last minute preparation, so we still have time.
Hey! So I read Mike's comment about the Visa, and I think the only time you have to pay for an extension is if you only got your visa approved for 3 months, so 90 days? I got my visa for 180 days and I think unless you want to extend your contract at the end of the 6 months, you're golden! Are you all set to leave? I'm so ready to get off the island and "expand my horizons". That's the reason I tell people on why I chose China...haha! it's been so rainy this summer and HUMID out in Kapolei! I feel like I'm preparing myself already for China weather!
Hi Amcacho:)
I don't know if I'll have to pay the extension fee, but I have some really great news for you:) You might not have to pay it either. A 180 day visa = 6 months:) We have the same one. ha ha
Hello! I think my ticket was about $1400 but it was a round trip ticket where I'd leave on August 17th and return January 26, 2011. It kind of sucks that I had to make a round trip flight, but I'm allowed to change my flight in January one time for no charge, in case I decide to travel more. You might want to check roundtrip flights (they might be cheaper), and maybe find one that won't be too expensive to change, usually its around $150. I have a doctor's appointment next week to get all my vaccinations, I'm not looking forward to that at all. Getting poked with all types of stuff, and I still can't drink the water there. haha! Are you taking the 20 hour classroom course in Beijing as well?
Hey!
I live in Kapolei, way out in the boonies where Target is! haha! It's basically the only thing going for Kapolei: Target and Costco (with gas). I pretty much spend most of the time in town though. I leave on the 17th and arrive in Beijing on the 18th. So not as early as you, I think. It's such a relief to know someone from Hawaii, it kind of reassures me that this whole thing is legitimate, haha! Are you all set for China?
