Planning my trip to Poland!!!!

You definitely need a plan to get from A to B. However, to get from Glasgow to Krakow. It looks more like A>B>C>D>E and involves travelling by plane, bus and train by the looks of things.

I can get a flight from Glasgow>London>Warsaw>Krakow but to be honest. 1 stop is bad enough, I don't want 2 stops. I'd only expect that if I was going to Australia hahahaha...

My next option is to get a Return flight with KLM for £208 from Glasgow>Amsterdam>Warsaw(5hours). Then I get the 175 bus on the opposite side of the road from the Airport terminal. Which is pretty straight forward. Costs about £1 to get from Warsaw Airort to Warsaw Central train station. This will take about 20-30mins.

I've researched the train journey from Warsaw central to Krakow Central. Using http://rozklad-pkp.pl/ It works out that I arrive in Warsaw at 12pm and the train is at 2:45pm. It will cost me around 56PLN(2nd class). After 3 hours on the train I will have arrived at Krakow Glowny(Central).

I literally just booked my flight as we speak and it's definitely hitting me that I am going =D

As you can tell I'm taking a more, scenic route. I love travelling around and seeing new places. Talking to people and enjoying the view. Rather than jumping on a plane straight to my destination.

Looking forward to seeing you all there in Poland for the Internship!

Good luck!

If you have 12 hours in Amsterdam you can definitely go and see the sights in that time, just remember to go back to the airport and make your flight ha ha!

I went to Amsterdam last October for a weekend and the transport system is so easy. The ticket counter to buy train tickets is in the airport (it has a massive sign saying 'trains' which helped me a lot) and you can get in to central Amsterdam within around 20 minutes as far as I remember, and you just can't beat sitting on a double decker train, I was far too excited for a grown up!

You know what, sometimes in the past I've gone for the cheapest flight and it hasn't done me any favours. Like you say, the journey to Prestwick isn't worth it. I always get hooked in to cheap flights from Gatwick, and then regret it hugely when I have to journey from Leeds, get around London and get to Gatwick...groan.

Oh yes please blog away and post your photos, can't wait to see it all!

Hahahaha... slightly, as I've never been to Poland or lived by myself before. Though to be honest. I cook, clean, iron and do everything myself at home anyway. So it's almost like being independent.

Ironically, after checking Momondo.com I did find a flight direct from Glasgow Prestwick to Warsaw for £150!!! Though Prestwich is really far away from me, so it's not worth the long drive and cost.

It's pretty quick on the way out. It's a 5 hour journey getting from Glasgow to Warsaw. So unfortunately I won't see much of Amsterdam. On the way back I have a 12 hour gap so I might go check it out =)

The trip is more interesting now that I need to get a bus and train to Krakow. I'll be blogging about my journey and taking pictures. Which might help the next people going there on the 26th of Feb.

Yay it's all booked! No turning back now, are you scared?? Are ya???! Ah you can't beat a quote from 'Friends' every now and then.

2 stops isn't as bad as I thought, I did London->Madrid->Costa Rica->Honduras and even though I was so tired by the end of it, I was proud of myself, but that was a LOT further around the world than to Poland, so yes it does seem crazy how many stops you were looking at!

So do you have a stopover in Amsterdam now? It's a great airport, I had a 5 hr stopover there once and managed to kill time with no problems, it's massive! It even has a casino...dangerous.
