Peking Duck, anyone?

It would appear that the demand for English teachers in Beijing is set to increase - exponentially! www.theage.com.au/travel/travel-news/beijing-to-make-most-locals-speak-english-20100720-10ihd.html Japan will always be my first love but a stint in China is beginning to look awfully attractive too. Hell, if you can't beat 'em, join em. Amy

Hi Amy,

I'm hoping to head out to Japan in march 2011 too. It'll be my first time there and pretty much my first teaching experience ...nervous?yes! excited...very! I have an interview withInterac next week so my plans are pretty much hinged on its outcome. Are you planning to go through an agency or to source your own emloyment? I don't know whether Interac have a New zealand branch but perhaps it's worth looking in to.

Do you have an idea of whereabouts in Japan you'd like to be? I'm hoping to be in the south, but I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever placement I'm offered - assuming I get through the the interview (all these weekends in and early mornings studying grammar WILL be worth it!!)

I'd love to hear more about your experience in Japan, good luck with your plans

Hi,

Are you looking to work in China?

Do you want to work with Kindergarten children?

Do you want a good Salary?

Do you want weekends off and two ½ days?

If you do, please contact me today. Our kindergarten needs teachers for the new semester starting September. We also have vacancies in our training centers. We are based in GuangZhou, Dongguan, and Foshan all in Guangdong Province, China.

Our school is called CIEO (Canadian International Education Organization)

If you want more details then please get in touch, If you know someone who might be interested then please forward this to them.

If you can’t start September don’t worry, you can still apply as we need teachers throughout the year!

All the best,

Robert

Hi, I'm Amy! I'm 31, from New Zealand and have been living in Melbourne for the past two years.

Because I enjoyed it so much the first time around, I plan to head back to Japan next year to teach English again - this time with the 120 hour i-to-i course and a few more years life experience under my belt!

I'm keen to connect with anybody who has an interest in Japan and get advice on where to live and teach English in Japan (I was based in Narita the first time around). I'd also welcome any tips on how I might go about getting in with a good school.

One of my goals in returning to Japan is to become fluent in Japanese (I studied Japanese at university and was conversational for a brief period, but from not using the language for 8+ years, I've become pretty rusty).

Also, I'd love to share my previous Japan teaching experience with anybody who is considering heading on over. I was based in an English language nursery with students ranging from babies (!) to 6 years of age - so a very wide range of ability levels. It was hard work but so rewarding - an experience of a lifetime!

I have a business degree and marketing background, so am quite keen to specialise in Business English this time around... Bus. English and teaching English to young children, since that is where my experience lies (polar opposites, I know!).

I look forward to connecting!

Cheers,

Amy
