Holler!
Well... with 3 weeks to go, I've finally had my visa invitation through. Hoorah! Luckily, I also managed to book some flights that weren't overly expensive with Singapore Airlines- yes, THE best airline in the world. haha All I need to do now is send my visa application off and work my final 3 weeks notice. Working at Nottingham Playhouse has been a real joy and the people are all lovely- not to mention the free shows I get to see! So it will be a sad day when I leave, but hopefully I can keep in contact with everyone- and who knows I might be working in another theatre in China someday... But not before teaching English!!!
The thought of teaching is now starting to fill me with dread; not because I don't want to do it, but because I don't want to be a crap teacher and the thought of the students not learning anything is really something I don't want to have to be responsible for!
I don't know about everybody else, but I also feel slightly guilty about leaving family and not being at home for Christmas. I know we'll speak to each other regularly on Skype, but I can't shake off the feeling that I'm abandoning them. My parents have even booked a holiday the week after I go, just to get over it! (I know I'm amazing, but- come one, that's Dramatic with a capital D, right there!haha)
I know the Chalkboard is really useful, but has anybody thought about setting up a Facebook group for those going in August?? I think that would be quite useful to familiarise ourselves with each other. (I find the Chalkboard a bit confusing at times, and Facebook is easier to use [awaits lightning bolt strike from online editors...]) If anyone knows of such a group, or wants to set one up, let me know!
Anyway, "zai jian" for now, as they say in Mandarin!

I know what you mean about worrying about being a crap teacher, but I guess any exposure to English spoken by a native is good exposure? I'm hitching my wagon to that star anyway. I'll just have to cut down on the obscure expressions!
I'm up for a facebook group but I'm no good at setting them up, so I'll join if you create it.
