- The main TEFL job sites often carry adverts from these countries. Typing “English school xxxx”and replacing the xxxx with the country of your choice yields further results for each country.
- Can I find work while in-country?
- Yes, and this is often the best choice. Try to compile a list of language schools before you leave and try to get some recommendations from previous employees – Dave’s ESL Café is a good resource. Failing that, scouring the local phonebook is the easiest option.
- What is the usual hiring process?
- Interviews are usually essential, although some of the bigger schools, such as Berlitz, conduct these abroad.
- Is a work visa required to find paid work in?
- As Slovenia is now an EU member state, EU citizens can work here without any difficulty, but will have to arrange a residence permit within 3 months. The requirements vary elsewhere
