Work & Visas

How do I find work?
The main TEFL job sites often carry adverts from these countries. Typing “English school xxxx”and replacing the xxxx with the country of your choice yields further results for each country.
Can I find work while in-country?
Yes, and this is often the best choice. Try to compile a list of language schools before you leave and try to get some recommendations from previous employees – Dave’s ESL Café is a good resource. Failing that, scouring the local phonebook is the easiest option.
What is the usual hiring process?
Interviews are usually essential, although some of the bigger schools, such as Berlitz, conduct these abroad.
Is a work visa required to find paid work in?
As Slovenia is now an EU member state, EU citizens can work here without any difficulty, but will have to arrange a residence permit within 3 months. The requirements vary elsewhere
