- How do I find work?
- You can spend anywhere between 2 weeks and three months doing unpaid teaching in Buddhist monasteries through i-to-i. In fact, if you want to confirm work before you leave home, you’ll be applying almost exclusively for voluntary positions.
- Can I find work while in-country?
- It’s easy to get a job in-country, but don’t expect to be paid much. Just ask at your hotel which schools are nearby
- What is the usual hiring process?
- You may not even need an interview – it’s possible to get a job after just a short chat with the employer!
- Is a work visa required to find paid work in?
- As teaching usually happens on a voluntary basis, most just get a tourist visa with a maximum stay of 5 months. Established private schools may be able to get you a work permit.
