Work & Visas

How do I find work?
ILS is the best-known private school in Tallinn and is a good place to start your job search. Other schools advertise mainly through the internet.
Can I find work while in-country?
This is the best option: there are plenty of schools in Tallinn, and the low cost of living means you won’t break the bank while you’re looking for a job.
What is the usual hiring process?
If you apply from abroad, big schools such as ILS will interview you over the phone. If you apply once you arrive, you’ll be interviewed in person.
Is a work visa required to find paid work in?
EU nationals simply need a work permit to get a job here, but if hail from live outside the EU you’ll have to get a visa, too. Both of these are usually arranged by your employer — which is great because the process is complicated and lengthy.
Work visa requirements:
  • Job offer
  • Valid passport
  • Health insurance certificate
  • Proof of funds to cover living costs
