- How do I find work?
- The big schools hold recruitment fairs in the UK and USA, so keep an eye on the education supplements of your country’s newspapers. You can also try contacting schools direct – dozens can be found on Egypt’s Yellow Pages website.
- Can I find work while in-country?
- Yes. If you ask around once you arrive, you’ll get plenty of recommendations.
- What is the usual hiring process?
- Interviews in person are preferred, but they’re often very informal and more like a friendly chat!
- Is a work visa required to find paid work?
- Yes. If you fix up a job before you leave home, your employer will help to arrange your permit. Many teachers arrive on a tourist visa and arrange the work visa once they’ve found a job.
