Games and Lesson Planning (5-6 hrs approx)

Take away a stock of fun games, easily incorporated into the language classroom and learn how to build a lesson plan.

Games

• The importance of games in the language classroom
• A variety of games such as battleships, pictionary, charades, snakes and ladders and how to incorporate them into the language classroom

Lesson Planning

• The main principles of good lesson planning are variety and flexibility:
• Variety - it is important to include a mix of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills into the lesson plans
• Flexibility - it is important to be sensitive to the mood of the class. If something isn't going well, you may need to abandon it and move on, or change tack completely

Tasks

• One mini-task (not submitted to tutor)
• Two tasks submitted automatically to tutor and returned to you marked within 24 hours (Monday to Friday):
• 1. Games planning exercise
• 2. Lesson planning exercise
